We’ll help you to record a relaxed conversation
‘Record Their Stories’ is designed to help you plan, script, and record an interview with your relatives in the simplest and most relaxed way possible. After exploring the app for just a minute you should be ready to get going and capture some great tales.
When you open the app and enter the names of the participants, you’ll find our ‘Questions List’ page. Here, you can write your own list of questions or select from over a hundred suggestions that we’ve written for you. Once you’re happy with your questions list, you can access the microphone and begin your recording.
Here’s the really neat bit. At any time during your recording you can press the question mark to see your list and remind yourself of all the things you wanted to ask. This won’t affect the recording at all. It’s a bit like a TV autocue and means you won’t run out of things the talk about.
Once it’s all recorded you can go to our simple Edit page to trim your recording or add to it if you wish. If you’re happy, you can listen back on the device, access your recordings via your computer, or upload the files to our unique editing and CD gift service.

GO SOMEWHERE QUIET!
"The most important of our top tips is the most important, so it’s worth saying it again here – Please record in a quiet place!
Stay away from outdoor traffic noise, loud air conditioning, noisy pets, or anything that’s likely to be distracting to the listener. A quiet place also makes the editing job much easier if you upload your audio for our professional service. Loud background noise makes any recording difficult to listen to and very difficult to edit!
DEVICES
This application is designed for use on the iPhone 3G, 3Gs, 4G, 4Gs, iPod and iPad range. Basically, it will work on any portable Apple device that has a microphone and touch screen.
